Happy New Year!
What now?
Now that the past year has ended and I don't have to go back to school anymore (or at least, until I recieve news about my graduate applications...), there's some things I would really like to attempt. So a current list of tasks include:
Composing a new cello piece for a commission (and trying to write something energetic for a change...)
Reading Hans Schoop's rundown of text layout in Ox213, because apparently, that exists and I want to read what he has to say on it before embarking on my own examination of the text layout.
Try to compose a rearrangement of some 15th century chansons. No promises, but I have in mind Lantins's Tout mon desir, since I didn't get around to analysing it for my paper, and possibly one chanson of Dufay's, though I'm not sure which. Maybe Ma belle dame souveraine?
Update my 1982 edition of Fallows's Dufay. Just in case I won't have internet access to get to the 1987 version online.
Hopefully that, plus an internship and pet-sitting, will keep me busy for the upcoming year ahead. Here's to more musical adventures no matter what happens.
Musical Find of the Week
It's New Year's. Have a Malbecque. (Yes, from the Blue Heron album I was shilling a while ago.) Seriously, it got stuck in my head after only 2 seperate listenings of it.
