Compositions

My works- mostly things done in university.

Ongoing projects

The Murals of Mur

A one-act opera, whose libretto is currently undergoing revision. Both text and music will be done by me.

Short overview: The opera revolves around a painting from the church of Santa Maria de Mur (located in Lleida, Catalonia), and its displacement during the early 20th century.

Ermessenda

A 2-act opera, for which I am writing the words. I don't know yet if I want to do music for it, though.

Short overview: This opera is about the 11th-century countess Ermessenda de Carcassone, and her struggle to hold on to power during the feudal transformation in the later 1000s.

Mort, tu as navre (working title)

Another one-act opera, but this one's a new project in the planning stages.

Short overview: The opera is an imagined conversation between the composers Dufay and Ockeghem, and it is centered on the nature of remembrance- particularly for composers.

Pages for each of these projects are forthcoming- keep an eye out for them!

re:1300 (April 2022)

Video link

This piece for at least 3 unspecified instruments was one of my first attempts to emulate early music- specifically, the style of Machaut and his contemporaries. Composed for Time's Arrow Ensemble, Boston University.

Solo works

Pilgrim's Procession (April 2022)

Video link

This short piano piece was originally conceived as a movement within a suite of medieval-inspired pieces, but has taken on a life of its own as a standalone piece. It is inspired by works such as the Cantigas de Santa Maria and the songs within the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat.

Electronic works

L'Annunciazione (April 2023)

Video link

A work for fixed electronics, inspired by the Gardner Annunciation.
