Mort, tu as navre (working title)

Synopsis

On a rainy night in Cambrai, the composer Johannes Ockeghem arrives at the doorstep of an old friend, Guillaume Dufay. Over dinner, their conversation turns into an extended rumination on death, remembrance and the fleeting nature of musical fame- with the death of a former colleague as a starting point, the two discuss the different ways composers may be remembered or forgotten as times and opinions change.

From personal remembrances such as masses, to the writing of musical works by others, to future scholarship, Mort, tu as navre is an invitation to reflect how musical legacies are shaped over time.
